Policy Subcommittee Lead
Help Wentworth members turn their ideas into well-researched policy contributions and useful discussions at branch meetings. This volunteer role brings people together, draws on their experience and makes it easier for members to contribute. There are two strands: policy development and member discussions. You may express interest in either strand or both, and the responsibilities may be shared between two people. You do not need to be a professional policy adviser or deliver every presentation yourself.
Open to financial One Nation members only. Membership is checked before appointment.

Responsibilities
Where you can contribute
Choose the responsibilities that suit you. Each is a complete application.
Policy development and strategy
Listen to members and gather ideas on issues relevant to the Wentworth community. Work with interested members to research the evidence, understand the existing published policy and identify practical options, trade-offs and unanswered questions. Prepare concise, well-sourced suggestions for committee consideration and submission through the agreed headquarters process. Keep contributors informed about progress and build a reputation for useful, considered Wentworth contributions.
Member discussions and presentations
Arrange one or two distinct policy presentations by members at each meeting. Agree topics and presenters in advance, help presenters find relevant published policy and reliable sources, and keep presentations focused and accessible. Make time for questions and respectful discussion, encourage a range of members to contribute and share useful references afterwards. Your role is to coordinate and support presenters; you are not expected to give every presentation.
